What Is Conversion Tracking?

Conversion tracking records when a visitor completes a valuable action on your website — submitting a contact form, calling your business, making a purchase, or downloading a file.

  • Contact form submissions

  • Email link clicks
  • Quote request forms
  • Chat interactions

Step 2: Set Up in Google Analytics 4

  1. Go to Admin → Events in GA4
  2. Create new events for your key actions (e.g., form_submit)
  3. Mark them as Conversions under Admin → Conversions

Step 3: Set Up in Google Ads

  1. Go to Tools → Conversions
  2. Click + New conversion actionWebsite
  3. Use Google Tag or GTM to install the conversion tag

Step 4: Test

Submit a test form and verify the conversion fires in your GA4 Realtime report and Google Ads conversion tracking status.
