Why It Matters
Your Google Business Profile (GBP) is often the first thing potential customers see when they search for your business. A verified, complete profile dramatically improves your local visibility.
Step 1: Go to Google Business
Visit business.google.com and sign in with a Google account.
Step 2: Search for Your Business
Enter your business name. If it already exists on Google, you can claim it. If not, click Add your business to Google.
Step 3: Enter Business Information
Fill in your business category, address (if you serve customers at a physical location), service areas, phone number, and website URL.
Step 4: Verify Your Business
Google needs to verify you own the business. Verification methods include:
- Postcard — A code mailed to your business address (5-14 days)
- Phone — Automated call or text with a code
- Email — Verification code sent to your email
- Video — Record a short video of your business location
Step 5: Complete Your Profile
After verification, add hours, photos, services, a description, and your logo. Complete profiles rank significantly better in local search.
